≡ Govt To Submit KORUS FTA Plan To Parliament
The trade ministry will submit its renegotiation plan for the Korea-U.S. free trade agreement to parliament this morning.
The report includes the government's negotiation goals, its main agendas and response plans for key issues.
The move will effectively wrap up domestic procedures needed for opening talks with Washington.
Earlier, the ministry completed two rounds of public hearings to collect opinions on the five-year-old deal and discussed related issues with 20 ministries and organizations.■

≡ Police Request Autopsies On Four Dead Newborns
Autopsies were scheduled to be performed on four newborn babies that suddenly died Saturday at a hospital in southwest Seoul.
Police are looking into the cause of their deaths, and are considering all possibilities, including virus infection, incubator malfunction and outside intrusion.
Results are expected in about a month.
According to police, the newborns were receiving treatment at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital when they went into cardiac arrest and died.
Seoul city and the Korea Centers for Disease Control have launched a probe into the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit.■[2017.12.18]

≡ Putin Thanks Trump For CIA Help In Foiling Terror Plot
Russian President Vladimir Putin made a phone call to his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump on Sunday to thank him for the CIA's help in foiling a terrorist plot in St. Petersburg.
According to the Kremlin, Putin told Trump that information provided by the CIA allowed Russian law enforcement to track down and detain a group of suspects who had been planning to bomb the Kazan cathedral and other crowded areas.
He also reportedly promised that Moscow would return the favor and pass on any similar intelligence.
The CIA has reportedly declined to comment.
