South Koreans who earn a monthly salary of more than 4.49 million won will pay more in National Pension insurance for a year starting from this month.
According to the welfare ministry, this change would affect some 2.4 million people or 13.6 percent of the total registered to receive the national pension.
They will see up to a 17,100-won increase in their monthly insurance payments.
Those who earn less than 4.49 million won per month will see no changes to how much they have to pay.■
