U.S. President Donald Trump may mention the suspension of NATO military exercises during talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Monday in Helsinki, Finland, if Putin asks.
CNN said Trump won't rule out ceasing the exercises in the Baltic States if Putin requested it.
The two leaders are also expected to talk about Russia's alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential elections, the ongoing conflict in Syria, Russia's annexation of Crimea, and reduction of nuclear weapons around the world.
The Helsinki summit will be their first official stand-alone meeting.
Along with the presidents, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are also set to meet at the Finnish Presidential Palace on Monday.■
