U.S. Ambassador to Seoul Harry Harris says agreements reached between the U.S. and North Korea in June need to be implemented first before formally declaring an end to the Korean War.
Harris made the remark during a lecture in Seoul today, saying U.S. President Donald Trump trusts that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will keep the promises he made during the Singapore summit.
He added that improved ties between the two Koreas and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula need to go hand-in-hand.
Meanwhile, amid reports that U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo again plans to visit the North, Harris said it's not suitable to refer to the matter at this time.■
