The death toll from Typhoon Mangkhut in the Philippines is climbing, mostly caused by landslides in the nation's northern provinces that were triggered by the storm.
Mangkhut struck the northern Philippines Saturday with winds of up to 269 kilometers an hour, leaving at least 20 dead and sending about 206,000 people to shelters.
Typhoon Mangkhut is now bearing down on China’s Guangdong province.
Most Hong Kong flights were canceled and some rail service was halted as the storm approached.■
