President Moon Jae-in has departed for France this morning, the first destiation of his nine-day tour through Europe.
On Sunday, Moon will attend a concert in Paris featuring K-pop sensation BTS; on Monday, he will hold a summit with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
After a stop in Italy, the president will visit the Vatican and sit down for a face-to-face with Pope Francis on Thursday.
He is expected to convey a message from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un who reportedly invited the pope to visit Pyongyang.
Moon will then fly to Belgium to attend the 12th Asia-Europe Meeting summit and hold talks with the leadership of the European Union on the sidelines.
He is scheduled to head over to Denmark in the last leg of his trip to participate in a conference on sustainable growth.■
