North Korea through its external propaganda website Uriminzzokkiri has criticized South Korea for its plan to go ahead with voting for a new United Nations human rights resolution against the North.
It warned the South to carefully think about what "catastrophic consequences" its behavior could bring about, stressing that if Seoul shows support for the resolution, it would be an insult towards the North's leader and system, given that the two Koreas just held historic bilateral summits.
Uriminzokkiri threatened that joint efforts for peace could go to waste if South Korea takes part in the U.N. vote next month.
Last month, Seoul's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha said during a parliamentary audit session that South Korea won't withdraw from the vote.■
