The National Assembly has passed overnight a revised budget bill for next year, 6 days past the legal deadline.
Lawmakers opened a plenary session early this morning and approved the 469.6 trillion won budget bill, down a net 927 billion won from the government's original proposal.
It still marks a 9.5 percent increase from this year's spending.
The welfare budget, including a record 23.5 trillion won for job creation, suffered a 1.2 trillion won cutback.
The spending for social infrastructure projects, meanwhile, got increased by 1.2 trillion won.■
