Freezing temperatures are gripping the nation, with cold wave alerts issued in parts of the central region.
Cold wave warnings are in place for parts of Gangwon and Gyeonggi Province, while advisories remain in effect for regions nearby, including Seoul, and Incheon.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, morning lows dipped to minus 17 degrees in Gyeonggi and minus 11.5 degrees in Seoul.
Meanwhile, the wind chill is making conditions feel even colder.
Daytime highs will hover around the freezing point in most parts.
The KMA forecasts the cold snap will continue until tomorrow.■
