The 21st annual Jeonju International Film Festival will kick off Thursday with limited screenings amid the coronavirus pandemic.
A small opening ceremony is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Korea Traditional Culture Center in the southwestern city in North Jeolla Province.
This year, the festival will feature a total of 180 films from 38 countries, including 65 shorts.
Due to safety concerns, organizers said film screenings will only be open to judges, directors, actors and invited guests.
The general public will not be able to watch any of the films in theaters, however, they can view the movies online through the WAVVE platform for a small fee.
The festival will run through June 6.
