South Korean rock singer Kim Jang-hoon will hold an online concert at sea on October 25 to celebrate Dokdo Day.
According to Kim's management agency on Thursday, the singer and long-time advocate of Dokdo will perform aboard a ship that will cruise around the easternmost islets.
The event will be livestreamed.
Dokdo Day was designated in 2000 by local municipalities and civic groups to bolster the country's sovereignty over islets in the East Sea amid Japan's attempts to claim them as its territory.
The designation marks the day when King Gojong of the Joseon Dynasty issued a decree officially delcaring Dokdo as part of Korea in 1900.
