BTS, the K-pop act that has grown into one of the biggest pop groups in the world, is returning with its latest full album "BE."

The album released Friday and consists of eight socks that were partially written by the band's seven members, including the No.1 hit "Dynamite" and the lead single "Life Goes On."

The track addresses the new reality brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and living life regardless of circumstances.

"We encountered a situation where everything came to a stop. I feel that the past year was spent in confusion and in emptiness ... we tried to honestly put in that sentiment in the album," Jin said in a press conference held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in central Seoul.

"We felt it would be great for listeners to empathize and comfort each other and people around them."

Compared with their previous releases, where most details were kept secret until the last minute, the septet opened up to fans by sharing details of the production stages and the roles they took for the album.

Jimin said he took part as a music project manager, going back and forth between BTS and their management agency Big Hit Entertainment to tweak the details, while V supervised the overall visuals of the album and Jungkook directed the teasers for the lead track.

After spending seven years together and cementing their status as a major player in the global music industry in 2020, the members said they sometimes feel burdened by all the pressure that follows.

Despite all the milestones they've reached, the group's ultimate goal is to be there for listeners.

RM acknowledged there are often moments when they forget who they are, but he said, "Staying firmly planted on ground, while continuing to do something and most importantly offering moments of comfort at such a difficult time to people in the United States, in Korea, all around the world, that's the best work and business we can do."
