The city of Miryang in South Gyeongsang Province, Jindo County in South Jeolla Province and Jeongseon County in Gangwon Province have teamed up to promote the Korean folk song "Arirang."
Famous variations of the song have come from all three regions.
In a ceremony held Tuesday, officials from Miryang, Jindo and Jeongseon agreed to work together to develop and globalize "Arirang" through festivals, performances, symposiums, forums and joint research.
Jeongseon Governor Choi Seung-jun said they will not only spread the values of the song in South Korea but throughout world.
