Starbucks Korea to expand social distancing measures starting Thursday over COVID-19
Starbucks Korea is expanding its social distancing measures to all stores nationwide.
The company on Monday said the measures will gradually take effect starting from Thursday.
They include customers distancing themselves from Starbucks staff at the register by standing behind a safety line sticker.
The use of personal mugs and tumblers will also be temporarily banned.
Starbucks said it will still honor discounts for customers who bring their own tumblers even if the beverage is served in a disposable cup.
Social distancing measures had already been implemented at a number of Starbucks stores in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, which have been hit hard by a high number of coronavirus cases. ■
