Colombia announces mandatory preventive isolation amid concerns over COVID-19
Colombia has become the latest country to impose a total lockdown to prevent further spread of COVID-19.
On Wednesday, President Ivan Duque urged Colombians to "stay at home."
The country, which has reported nearly 500 cases of the novel coronavirus, will be shut down until April 12.
Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador and El Salvador have also imposed total lockdowns.
Chile, meanwhile, has extended school closures until May as it has confirmed more than 1,100 infections and three deaths.■
