U.S. First Lady Melania Trump acknowledged the pain caused by the coronavirus pandemic during a highly personal speech to the Republican National Convention on Tuesday.
She also praised her husband, Donald Trump, saying he didn't waste time playing politics and was "totally honest."
The BBC's Nick Bryant reports.

Into a flood-lit White House Rose Garden, Melania Trump made her intricately choreographed entrance.
Then the first lady started a speech by expressing compassion for the victims of COVID-19 -- a virus that other speakers have referred to in the past tense.
Adopting a more reflective tone than her husband, she also addressed the racial turbulence of the Black Lives Matter summer.
There's been criticism of the Republicans for repeatedly using the White House as a grand backdrop for segments of this party political convention.
It's a break with tradition and a possible breach of the law.
