Former U.S. President Barack Obama speaks during a drive-in rally while campaigning for Democratic nominee Joe Biden in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 21, 2020.
Former U.S. President Barack Obama has sharply criticized Donald Trump in his first campaign speech in support of the Democratic Party's presidential candidate Joe Biden.
Speaking at a rally in Philadelphia, Obama said Trump had treated the presidency like a reality show and had not shown interest in anyone else but himself.

"I never thought Donald Trump would embrace my vision or continue my policies. But I did hope, for the sake of the country, that he might show some interest in taking the job seriously. But it hasn't happened. At least 220,000 Americans have died. More than 100,000 small businesses have closed. Millions of jobs are gone. A proud reputation around the world is in tatters."
During his own rally in North Carolina, Trump painted a dire portrait of America if Biden is elected.
He told his supporters, "If Biden wins, the flag-burning demonstrators in the street will be running your federal government."
Trump and Biden are scheduled to face off in their second and final debate on Thursday.
