President Donald Trump continues to claim he has done a good job with the coronavirus and United States needs to "learn to live with it."

He made the remark during his second and final debate with his Democratic challenger Joe Biden on Thursday in Nashville, Tennessee.

Trump also said a vaccine will be developed and distributed soon, saying "it's going to be announced within weeks," which the moderator questioned.

Trump: "It's not a guarantee but it will be by the end of the year but I think it has a good chance. There are two companies. I think in a matter of weeks and it will be distributed very quickly."

Moderator: "Can you tell us which companies?"

Trump: "Johnson and Johnson is doing very well. Moderna is doing very well. Pfizer is doing very well and we have numerous others. Ans then we also have others that we are working on very closely with other countries in particular Europe."

Biden responded by saying that Trump does not have a plan to stop a "dark winter" of coronavirus deaths.

"We're in a circumstance where the president thus far and still has no plan no comprehensive action plan. This is the same fellow who told you this is going to end by Easter last time. This is the same fellow who told you that don't worry we're going to end this by the summer. We're about to go into a dark winter a dark winter and he has no clear plan and there is no prospect."

On the topic of foreign meddling, the former vice president said any country that interferes in American elections will pay a price if he's elected.

Just ahead of the debate, U.S. officials reported that Russian hackers targeted the networks of dozens of state and local governments in recent days, stealing data from at least two servers.

Both candidates also touched on North Korea, with Trump saying the Obama administration left him a "mess" in regards to the regime.

Trump said he had warded off a war that could have threatened millions of lives.

Biden hit back by saying Trump had "legitimized" a "thug" by meeting and forging a relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, adding he would only meet Kim if he agreed to draw down his nuclear capacity.
