People remove beach cabanas ahead of Typhoon Molave in Danang, Vietnam, on Oct. 26, 2020.
Vietnam is working to evacuate more than a million people in its central lowlands ahead of a strong typhoon.
The Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday that the south central coast is expected to get slammed by Typhoon Molave with sustained winds of up to 135 kilometers per hour on Wednesday morning.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc ordered provincial authorities to prepare to evacuate about 1.3 million people in regions lying in the typhoon's projected path.
He expressed fears it could be as deadly as Typhoon Damrey, which battered the country's central region in 2017 and left more than a hundred people dead.
Meanwhile, three central provinces including Hue are still reeling from severe flooding and landslides that killed 136 people and left dozens missing earlier this month.
Molave has already wreaked havoc in the Philippines where it left at least three people dead, 13 missing and displaced more than 120,000 villagers.
