U.S. President Donald Trump has approved an emergency declaration for Washington, D.C. amid concerns that his own supporters may try to disrupt Joe Biden's upcoming inauguration.
A huge security operation is being put in the place to prevent any repeat of the violent assault on Congress.
The BBC's Jon Sopel has more from Washington.

The nation's capital, famous for its monuments and museums, will by the end of this week more resemble a fortress.
Thousands of troops are being drafted in early ahead of next week's inauguration.
In state capitals across the country, similar measures are being put in place as the FBI discloses armed protestors loyal to Donald Trump are planning further violent action to disrupt the great tradition in American democracy -- the peaceful transfer of power to the new president.
