"Unintentional second degree murder while committing a felony, find the defendant guilty. Third degree murder, perpetrating an eminently dangerous act, find the defendant guilty. Second degree manslaughter, culpable negligence, creating an unreasonable risk, find the defendant guilty."

Following the verdict, President Joe Biden urged Americans to come together to confront systemic racism.
He also said Chauvin's conviction could be a giant step forward in the march towards justice in America.

"Such a verdict is also much too rare. For so many people, it seems like it took an unique and extraordinary convergence of factors, a murder that lasts almost 10 minutes in broad daylight for, ultimately, the whole world to see. For so many, it feels like it took all of that for the judicial system to deliver a just, just basic accountability."
