Annapurna in the Himalayas
Four South Koreans are missing in Nepal after an avalanche in the Himalayas.
Seoul's foreign ministry said the avalanche occurred sometime between 10 and 11 a.m. Friday along the Annapurna trekking course at an altitude of 3,230 meters.
Five other Korean nationals that were part of the climbing party were evacuated safely.
The ministry said an emergency response team was set up at its embassy in Nepal following the accident and is working with local police to locate the missing hikers.■
