South Korean evacuees from the coronavirus-hit Chinese city of Wuhan quarantined for 14 days at two state facilities are set to be released.
The interior ministry said over 700 people staying at the National Human Resources Development Institute in Jincheon and the Police Human Resources Development Institute in Asan all tested negative for the virus.
The first batch of some 370 evacuees that arrived in Gimpo on January 31 will leave today, while the second group of 334 Korean nationals will be discharged tomorrow.
Officials said the government will transport them on buses to major locations near their homes.
Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun and Interior and Safety Minister Chin Young plan to attend farewell ceremonies.■
