Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha and her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi
Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha has reassured that Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit South Korea in the first half of this year as previously agreed upon by the two countries.
Kang made the remark to reporters Saturday after holding one-on-one talks with her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Germany on the sidelines of the annual Munich Security Conference.
She said she reaffirmed with Wang their plan to coordinate the scheduled visit as planned although more work needs to be done to finalize the date.
Kang also said she held a bilateral meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in which the two sides briefly exchanged views on pending issues, including negotiations on renewing the allies' defense cost-sharing deal and the situation in North Korea.■
