South Korea is considering conducting novel coronavirus tests on all pneumonia patients in the country.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the government is considering taking such measures in the coming days after consulting with outside experts.
The decision comes after South Korea's latest patient was identified after he visited a hospital with a heart problem and doctors decided to run coronavirus tests when he was found to have pneumonia.
The 82-year-old patient has no record of overseas travel since December last year and is also believed to have had no contact with the country's other virus-confirmed patients.■
