the National Assembly
The National Assembly has opened an extraordinary session to handle key bills, including a proposal to revise the quarantine act to better tackle the outbreak of the new coronavirus.
It'll be the last session of its kind before the April 15 general elections.
For two days starting tomorrow, representatives from floor negotiating blocs will give speeches.
They will be followed by a three-day interpellation session next week.
Parliament is also gearing up for the upcoming general elections, now just less than two months away.
Lawmakers plan to hold plenary sessions on February 27 and March 5 to handle a series of pending bills aimed at improving people's livelihoods and coping with the coronavirus.■
