According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 505 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in South Korea today.
A majority of infections is centered in the southeastern city of Daegu and neighboring North Gyeongsang Province.
Other regions where patients were confirmed to have contracted the disease include Busan, Seoul, Gyeonggi, Daejeon, Ulsan and Gangwon.
Earlier, KCDC Director Jung Eun-kyeong said it's inevitable that more confirmed cases will be reported for the time being given that members of the Shincheonji religious sect in Daegu are still being tested for the coronavirus.
As for the latest fatality, it's a 74-year-old South Korean man that was waiting to be hospitalized in Daegu.
The man is the second member of the religious sect to die from the coronavirus.
Meanwhile, another recovered patient is being discharged from hospital today.
The South Korean resident of Wuhan who was evacuated on a chartered plane earlier has tested negative for the virus twice.
That means a total of 25 people have been cured of the disease.
