A U.S. military official takes the temperature of a driver entering Camp Humphreys
U.S. Forces Korea has reported 12 cases of the novel coronavirus.
In a release Friday, USFK said a female American soldier stationed at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province tested positive.
She is the second U.S. service member stationed in South Korea to have contracted the disease.
Afterwards, it reported a civilian employee was also diagnosed with COVID-19.
A majority of cases confirmed by the USFK are civilian workers and family of troops.
On Wednesday, USFK Commander General Robert Abrams declared a public health emergency on aimed at issuing guidance and enforcing compliance to prevent further spread of the virus.■
