Cheong Wa Dae says it is in the process of arranging a special video conference of leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nation as well as South Korea, China and Japan to discuss international cooperation on the coronavirus pandemic.

Deputy spokesman Yoon Jae-kwan told reporters Thursday that the presidential office is in close talks with related countries.

Last week, President Moon Jae-in took part in video call with leaders of the Group of 20 major economies.

In a joint statement, they committed to presenting a united front against the virus and pledged to do "whatever it takes" to ride out the pandemic.

Yoon noted South Korea continues to be an exemplary model for handling the outbreak, saying the country wishes to further share its expertise with other countries.■
