S. Korea suspends voting for April 15 parliamentary elections at 5 more overseas missions.
South Korea has suspended voting for the April 15 parliamentary elections at five more overseas missions due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The National Election Commission said on Thursday that polling operations would be halted at Seoul's embassies in India, El Salvador and Oman, and its consulates in Vladivostock, Russia and Irbil, Iraq.

With the latest move, eligible voters will be unable to cast their ballot at 91 missions in 55 countries and territories.

This affects an estimated 87,252 people, or 50.7 percent of all registered to cast their ballots from abroad.

Overseas voting in other diplomatic missions will run through April 6.■
