Bus and taxi passengers nationwide must wear face masks in order to board as part of a new measure aimed at curbing the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Under the new mandate that took effect Tuesday, bus and taxi drivers as well as passengers will need to cover their faces.
This comes amid an increase in confirmed cases of virus transmission on these modes of public transport as well as people loosening up on the practice of wearing masks due to the warmer weather.
Passengers on all domestic and international flights will also be required to wear face masks from Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the medical industry has for the first time said lighter surgery masks can substitute the higher filter performance KF94 masks as summer approaches while the COVID-19 pandemic shows no signs of a letup.
