South Korea will provide 25,000 face masks to independence fighters and their family members living overseas to help them amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs veterans on Monday said about 500 independence fighters or their families living in 15 countries will receive the masks along with a letter from Patriots and Veterans Affairs Minister Park Sam-duck thanking them for their sacrifice in liberating the Korea from Japan's colonial rule which ended in 1945.
The ministry has also delivered masks to descendants of independence fighters in China and Korean War veterans in 22 countries in an expression of gratitude for their sacrifice.
