South Korea reported 50 new virus cases Thursday, marking a slight decline from 63 a day earlier.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said among the cases confirmed Wednesday, 28 were local infections and 22 were imported from abroad, raising the total caseload to 13,293.

Sporadic cluster infections across the nation also continued to rise with 15 of the latest cases from Gwangju, which has emerged as a new hotbed of virus outbreaks linked to a Buddhist temple, a door-to-door business, a nursing home and cram school among others.

Seoul added four cases, with the surrounding Gyeonggi Province seeing just one additional case, while a door-to-door sales business in Suwon added five more cases.

Incheon, just west of Seoul, added two more patients, and the central city of Daejeon added six more infections.

The KCDC reported two more COVID-19-related fatalities, bringing the death toll to 287.

The total number of people released from quarantine after full recoveries stood at 12,019.
