Foreigners coming from countries that are deemed risky because they have not controlled their coroanavirus outbreaks are required to submit a COVID-19 negative certificate before entering South Korea.

The Central Disaster Management Headquarters said Friday that all foreigners from countries subject to tougher quarantine measures should obtain a PCR coronavirus test certificate proving they are not infected with the virus.

The document should be issued within 48 hours of departure by medical institutions designated by South Korean diplomatic missions in the respective countries.

The government also said it has ordered regular flights from high risk countries to limit the number of passengers to 60 percent of their capacity.
