The daily number of new coronavirus cases in South Korea on Friday doubled from the previous day due to sporadic cluster infections in the capital and nearby provinces.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 36 additional cases from Thursday, bringing the total count to 14,305.
Since shooting up to 113 on Saturday, the daily count fluctuated this week but has remained below 60.
The KCDC said among the latest infections, 22 were imported from abroad and 14 were local transmissions.
There was also one new fatality, an 81-year-old man from Gyeonggi Province, raising the national death toll to 301.
Meanwhile, the virus recovery figure rose by 51 to 13,183.
