South Korea reported 34 additional coronavirus cases on Tuesday, with a steady rise in new infections traced to church gatherings, raising the total caseload to 14,660.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed 11 imported cases for the second straight day, including three detected at quarantine checkpoints.
By country, the United States accounted for five cases, followed by Kazakhstan with three.
Of the 23 locally transmitted cases, six were reported in Seoul, seven in the surrounding Gyeonggi Province and nine in the southeastern city of Busan.
Sporadic cluster infections tied to churches remain a major worry for health authorities.
A church in Goyang has counted more than 30 cases of COVID-19 and also led to infections at a local child care center and the Namdaemun Market in Seoul.
More than 20 cases have been traced to another church in Goyang, and at least eight cases have been also identified at a church in Gimpo.
The death toll stayed at 305 with no new fatalities, while the virus recovery count reached 13,729, up 71 from Monday.
