The South Korean military has confirmed two new coronavirus cases traced to cluster infections from churches in the greater Seoul metropolitan area.
According to the defense ministry on Friday, a civilian worker at an Air Force base in Seongnam and a Marine from a base on Baengnyeong Island in the West Sea have tested positive for COVID-19 in recent days.
The civilian worker is said to have visited a church in Yongin, where a sporadic outbreak was confirmed, while the Marine is believed to have contracted the virus from a church in Seoul's Seongbuk District.
So far, the military has recorded a total of 82 infections among service members and civilian employees.
