People stand in line to get tested at a COVID-19 screening facility that has been cordoned off by red tape and a sign warning visitors of the risk of infection.
The number of new coronavirus cases in South Korea rebounded to over 100 on Wednesday as sporadic cluster infections and untraceable cases continued to pop up across the country.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency confirmed 110 cases from the previous day, including 99 local infections and 11 imported from abroad, raising the cumulative total to 23,216.
The daily tally snapped three straight days of a two-digit rise.
The death toll remained unchanged at 388.
Meanwhile, 209 patients were released from quarantine on Tuesday, bringing the total recovery figure to 20,650.
Health authorities said the spread of infections is showing signs of slowing but warned it's a matter of time before the daily figures jump again due to the rising number of patients with unknown infection routes.
According to the data, 26.6 percent of all new cases over the past two weeks were untraceable while around 25 percent were traced to cluster infections.
As the threat of the virus remains high, Level 2 social distancing has been extended until September 27, until special measures are announced for the upcoming Chuseok holiday and Hangeul Day weekend.
Officials have been urging people to stay home over the holidays.
