President Moon Jae-in says he hopes South Koreans have a happy Chuseok, saying he believes "tomorrow will be better than today."
In a video message unveiled by Cheong Wa Dae Wednesday, the president noted that the holiday has come at a very difficult time apparently referring to the coronavirus pandemic and said many people are foregoing meetings and gatherings.
He then thanked the country for its patience and said everyday life is slowing starting to return to normal.
President Moon also expressed his appreciation to medical personnel, quarantine authorities and police for their hard work and keeping people safe.
First Lady Kim Jung-sook also appeared in the video, which was produced in a video call format to make it seem more personal.
