U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo
A planned visit to South Korea by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo this week has been canceled after President Donald Trump tested positive for COVID-19.
The State Department on Sunday gave an update on Pompeo's overseas schedule, which only included a single travel itinerary to Tokyo.
The top American diplomat was originally set to make a two-day visit to Seoul starting Wednesday, after stopping by Mongolia's Ulaanbaatar following his trip to Japan.
In a statement, the State Department said Pompeo is expected to again travel to Asia this month and "will work to reschedule visits on that trip" without mentioning Trump's coronavirus diagnosis.
