The South Korean Army says it will take part in an upcoming U.S.-led multinational exercise focused on space operations as an observer.
In a parliamentary audit report submitted Friday, the Army said it will join the Global Thunder exercise slated to be held next month.
Global Thunder, led by the U.S. Strategic Command, is an annual command and control exercise that provides training opportunities to assess the command's mission areas with a specific focus on nuclear readiness.
Britain, Australia, Canada and New Zealand also participate in the drill.
The Army is also planning to take part in the Global Sentinel and the Schriever Wargame exercises as an observer next year.
Also led by the United States, the maneuvers are aimed at boosting participating countries' space power.
