South Korea has reported 121 new COVID-19 cases, including 104 domestic infections.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency on Thursday also confirmed three more fatalities from the last 24 hours.

This brings the total number of virus cases recorded in the country to 25,543 and the death toll to 453.

For the first time in nearly one month, local transmissions spiked again to over 100 as sporadic cluster infections, particularly at senior care hospitals, continued to climb amid eased social distancing guidelines.

Meanwhile, imported cases rose by 17, down from a three-month high of 34 cases the previous day.

According to the KDCA, 23,647 people have recovered from the coronavirus since the start of the epidemic in the country.
