South Korea has reported 155 new coronavirus cases and two more fatalities.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency on Friday confirmed 138 domestic infections and 17 imported cases from the last 24 hours.
The total caseload now stands at 25,698 and the death toll at 455.
According to health officials, the uptick was largely due to continued cluster infections at hospitals and facilities for the elderly, who are among the most vulnerable to COVID-19.
At least 122 cases have been traced to a rehabilitation hospital in Gwangju, south of Seoul, while a cluster of infections at a convalescent hospital for seniors in the southern port city of Busan has reached at least 84.
There were 62 seriously or critically ill coronavirus patients in the country, unchanged from the previous day, while the recovery figure rose by 70 to 23,717.
