President Moon Jae-in will take part in the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit to be held via video Friday.
During the meet, set to open at 9 p.m. Korea Time, the leaders of the 21 member states will discuss efforts to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and ways to promote economic cooperation.
President Moon is expected to share South Korea's experience and efforts in the fight against the coronavirus and call for international coordination on quarantine efforts.
The meeting is also drawing keen attention to whether U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will issue any messages.
Moon is also scheduled to participate in the two-day virtual G20 Summit to be held from Saturday.
