Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha says South Korea will work with the incoming Joe Biden administration in the United States to swiftly denuclearize the Korean Peninsula and establish permanent peace.
She made the remark Tuesday during a meeting with government officials to discuss how Seoul plans to work with Washington after the new U.S. president takes office.
Kang said she hopes the two sides will be able to revive the momentum for dialogue with North Korea.
She also pledged to strengthen the alliance between the countries so they can join forces to solve pending issues around the world, especially the coronavirus pandemic.
Biden will be inaugurated as the 46th U.S. president on Wednesday in Washington, D.C.
