Former Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae believes she was able to create a framework for prosecutorial reform during her term.
She made the remark Wednesday at her farewell ceremony.
Choo highlighted her achievements, including the launching of a unit to investigate corruption among high-level officials.
She also thanked her predecessors Park Sang-ki and Cho Kuk for overcoming hardships and their devotion to reform.
Choo has been replaced by three-term Democratic Party lawmaker and former judge Park Beom-kye.
Park was appointed by President Moon Jae-in in the afternoon, after a parliamentary committee adopted a confirmation report on him.
He will officially start in his new role Thursday.
