South Korea has reported 549 new coronavirus cases and one more death.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency confirmed 529 local and 20 imported infections in the last 24 hours, raising the total caseload to 115,195.
The death toll hit 1,802.
Tuesday's tally marked the second day in the row the caseload hovered in the 500s after topping 600 for over a week.
But as cluster infections mount and people increase social activities amid the warmer weather, health officials remain concerned about a potential fourth wave.
Authorities decided to extend Level 2 social distancing in the capital region and Level 1.5 rules in most other areas until May 2, while restricting operations of high-risk entertainment establishments, such as nightclubs and bars.
Private gatherings of five or more people continue to be banned nationwide.
