The top nuclear envoys of South Korea, the United States and Japan will meet in Seoul next week to discuss issues related to North Korea.
Seoul's foreign ministry said Noh Kyu-duk, special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, is scheduled to first hold talks with his American counterpart, Sung Kim, on Monday.
Kim, who doubles as U.S. ambassador to Indonesia, was appointed by President Joe Biden last month to be his point man on the North.
He is due to arrive this weekend.
Noh and Kim will also hold a trilateral meeting with Takehiro Funakoshi, the Japanese foreign ministry's director-general for Asian and Oceanian affairs.
The ministry said Noh and Kim will discuss "bilateral cooperation in making substantive progress in the complete denuclearization and establishment of lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula."
The nuclear talks were arranged as they seek to coordinate a strategy to resume dialogue with Pyongyang amid stalled nuclear talks.
