President Moon Jae-in returned to South Korea on Friday following a weeklong visit to Britain, Austria and Spain.

Moon attended the Group of Seven summit in Cornwall, England, which marked the first major multilateral summit to take place amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

He participated as a guest in plenary sessions on health, open societies and climate, and reaffirmed Seoul's commitment to playing a bigger role in addressing global issues.

The president then made state visits to Austria and Spain, during which he forged agreements to strengthen bilateral relations with each of the countries to a "strategic partnership."

Cheong Wa Dae said Moon's latest round of summit diplomacy served as an opportunity to confirm South Korea's enhanced international stature and improve relations with European nations.
