President Moon Jae-in says "South Korea is now recognized on the world stage," noting the country's remarkable economic growth despite its painful history.
Moon on Tuesday highlighted progress on the domestic front and their heightened nationals status, while speaking at a Cabinet meeting at Cheong Wa Dae.
The president shared his thoughts about attending the Group of Seven summit in the United Kindgom earlier this month.
He said world leaders mentioned South Korea's success in multiple areas, including its response to the coronavirus pandemic and climate change.
Moon said many countries "want to be partners with us and our companies."
He said South Korea will play a key role in discussing and resolving important international issues, along with other advanced nations," and continue to make efforts to expand diplomatic horizons.
